People think they are indestructible. I don't even understand how.
Our bones break
we need blood transfusions
cancer infests our bodies
infections eat away at us
our livers fail
Can you really think that just because of one moment of glory and power, you are officially immortal? Right...
No matter what you think, you're not up there with God. If you think you are, he'll put you in your place. You're weak and you are so easily tempted. And God knows how to humble a person. He will show you who you really are, and then you'll run. From all you've lied to, even yourself.
Know you're below God, but know that you're also worth loving. You're also worth enough to love someone else.
That's what I get from this bunch of verses. Nahum is one of my favorite books in the Bible. It shows God's vengeance and discernment. But it also shows his love and mercy towards those he's created.
